National Health Services Directory (NHSD)

What is the National Health Services Directory (NHSD)?

The National Health Services Directory (NHSD) is a consolidated and comprehensive national directory of health services and provider information. It covers all Australian states and territories with services across the public and private sector and builds on existing regional healthcare directories to provide detailed information on available health related services to anyone with internet access.

The NHSD currently provides essential service information such as location, opening hours and telephone numbers for general practices, pharmacies, hospitals and emergency departments.

In the near future, the NHSD will build upon this information to include languages spoken, access to bulk billing and other supported types of communication. In time the NHSD will be further enhanced to include secure access to mental health, allied health and local hospital services data information.
