The Compass Teaching & Learning Conference is Northern Territory PHN’s premier professional development and networking event for primary health care professionals.
The theme for the 2018 conference was Integrated Care: Solutions & Opportunities. An exciting roster of speakers showcased successes and opportunities in providing integrated models of care, particularly in rural and remote settings.
The two-day conference featured:

5 panel discussions
7 topic streams including Innovation, Practice Administration, Consumer Engagement, Digital Health, Integrated Care, Justice & Legal
20 CPD accredited sessions
4 official networking sessions including the Gala Dinner and Health Professional of the Year Awards ceremony
Enlightening keynotes and plenaries
Practical workshops including a session on practitioner health and self-care
An inter-professional escape room where participants work as part of a health care team racing against the clock to solve a series of puzzles to ‘save’ an aged care resident during a cyclone.

Who should attend?
Practitioners of all specialities – doctors, allied health professionals, Aboriginal health practitioners, nurses and practice staff – anyone who is interested in learning and sharing their professional knowledge of primary health care in their regional or remote setting.
Compass is a FREE event for all delegates.
Registration entitles delegates to all conference sessions and networking opportunities, including the Gala Dinner on Friday 23 November.
NT PHN is committed to the ongoing support of health professionals living in remote areas. Remote NT delegates who reside outside of Darwin and Palmerston are eligible for a grant of up to two nights' accommodation at the DoubleTree. Check your eligibility: www.doctorconnect.gov.au/locator.
Compass is unable to fund delegates’ flights and travel expenses, or support costs for delegates’ family members.
Health Professional of the Year Awards
In 2018, the Health Professional of the Year Awards again coincided with the Compass Teaching and Learning Conference.
The Health Professional of the Year Awards recognise health professionals working in the NT who have made an outstanding contribution to health and wellbeing in their community. The awards were presented at the Compass Gala Dinner on Friday, 23 November 2018.
