COVID-19

We play a key role in supporting Australia’s response to COVID-19. This includes working in partnership with private GPs, supporting health workforce needs in the NT, and raising awareness across the community on the COVID-19 response.

Fourth dose

A fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is now available in the Northern Territory for those who are at greatest risk of severe illness from COVID-19. This is an extra booster dose that is only available for the following groups, four months after their first booster dose:

  • Adults aged 65 years and over
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and older
  • Residents of aged care or disability care facilities
  • People aged 16 years and over who are severely immunocompromised.

GP clinics and pharmacies offering vaccinations

The Australian Government has created a Vaccine Clinic Finder so you can find a clinic near you that suits your needs. You can use the finder to book for yourself, your children, or someone else.

Find a vaccine provider

The availability of vaccines across each pharmacy and GP clinic may vary or change at any time. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with them directly to confirm.

If you’re a parent or guardian looking for more information regarding vaccinations for your children, the Australian Government Health website’s Department of Health website provides resources, fact sheets, FAQs and further details on what to expect after receiving their shots.

Free rapid antigen tests

Free rapid antigen tests (RAT) are available from a number of participating GP clinics, remote and urban primary health clinics and Aboriginal health clinics across the Northern Territory.
