Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation (Miwatj) are seeking a Registered Midwife Nurse to join their team in Ramingining, Northern Territory.

- Excellent salary for an AHP Graduate Year 1 of $78,751 per annum plus superannuation

What’s the role?
The purpose of this position is to provide primary health care, including clinical care, to clients in the clinic. Provide support to the doctors and other nursing staff, within the aims and objectives of Miwatj Health. To practice within a Primary Health Care framework and philosophy in a remote area setting. Core aspects of your role will include:
- Screen patients and treat according to CARPA protocols or refer client to a more senior health worker, nurse or doctor
- Use Communicare patient information system to identify care needs and document patient consultation in patient’s medical file
- Assist doctors and other health professionals with communication, treatment and any advice relevant to a client’s treatment
- Assist in the provision of high quality emergency care that at times is independent but with support from a registered nurse and or doctor
- To follow up on medications, treatments or other procedures under the direction of the treating doctor

- Current registration and practicing certificate as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner through AHPRA
- Knowledge and commitment to the principles of Primary Health Care and proven clinical assessment skills
- Commitment to personal and professional development including the sharing of knowledge, information and skills with work colleagues
- The ability to support all outreach program activities by completing clinical care items required prior to seeing the doctor. These includes routine investigation e.g. weight, BP, eye check, BMI, foot checks, urine collection, and taking bloods and also to provide education about managing risk factors
- Possession of current BLS, AGV, Ochre car and NT drivers licence or eligible to obtain.
