What’s the role?

  • Provide culturally sensitive and responsive support to women and their families during pregnancy and the first 12 months following the birth of their baby, for the program to meet its objectives.
  • Use your demonstrated understanding and experience working with families who have young children to provide culturally sensitive care navigation.

Is this the right role for you?

  • Relevant qualifications in relation to the role with a minimum one year’s experience or relevant certificate with relevant experience attained through previous appointments, service and/or study, or an equivalent level of expertise.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues in pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, including maternal and infant health and experience working with families who have young children.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, including computer skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and liaise with other health professionals to facilitate health services for Aboriginal families and their children.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and have a working knowledge of NT Aboriginal Communities and ability to liaise with perinatal infant mental health support services.
  • The filling of this employment opportunity is intended to constitute a special measure under the Anti-Discriminatory Act (NT) 1992. This an aboriginal identified position as it is a genuine occupational requirement for the position

NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer relocation support and clinical educational financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
