Services provided include primary health care, aged care, renal dialysis, community wellness, and youth services. Maningrida is a remote Indigenous community in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, 520 km east of Darwin, that boasts a beautiful seaside location steeped in history and culture.

- Base salary range $189,585 – $206,545 (based on level of experience)
- Medicare: 50% of fee’s earned (up to $100,000 per calendar year)
- Attraction allowance: $13,182 – $39,540 (based on level of appointment)
- Retention allowance: $19,770 – $39,540 (based on level of appointment)
- Annual airfares: $5,000 per calendar year
- Opportunity for Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) – Doctor Stream in MM6 and MM7 regions, providing access to annual additional MBS payments of up to $35K in urban and $60K in rural locations
What’s the role?
The Rural Medical Practitioner role is to provide primary medical services to the Maningrida community and surrounding outstations, by utilising your rural and remote experience and working collaboratively with other health professionals, to deliver excellent health care to patients.
Duties include:
- Providing primary medical services and be proactive in health promotion
- Provide public health services using a community development model to enhance health outcomes, improve services and infrastructure
- Providing a holistic approach to health care that includes care planning and case conferencing with patients who have a chronic disease
- Being responsible for the coordination of medical retrieval and patient travel services, which includes tasking Care Flight aircraft and crew
Is this the right role for you?
Before you apply, we need you to have:
- Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
- Unrestricted working rights within Australia
- Proven and extensive post graduate clinical experience, including general practice, paediatrics, obstetrics and emergency medicine
- Ability to travel by road or light aircraft as required
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer support and financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
