Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (Congress) are looking for Remote General Practitioners to join their passionate remote community teams.

What’s the role?
The General Practitioner (GP) provides culturally safe GP services within a comprehensive primary health care framework to the Remote Communities. The position works within a multidisciplinary team and is integral to ensuring clinical leadership, cultural integrity and high standards of clinical care.
Is this the right role for you?
Before you apply, we need you to have:
- Current specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Fellow of the RACGP or ACRRM, or a minimum of five years of GP experience
- Good communication skills in cross-cultural environment
- Willingness to accommodate Aboriginal values and traditions in clinical practice including willingness to take cultural advice form Aboriginal staff
- Awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history, and knowledge of current issues affecting the lives of Aboriginal people
- Additional qualifications which may include DipRANZCOG, FARGP or MPH, highly desired
- Accreditation or experience as a supervisor of GP registrars, an advantage
- Ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations

Famously known for Uluru, the Red Centre region of Central Australia is a desert environment with mainly dry hot summers and cool dry winters.
The area draws tourist interest due to the town of Alice Springs and the impressive natural attractions in the area such as Palm Valley National Park, the West MacDonnell Ranges, the Finke Gorge and popular events such as the Camel Cup.
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer relocation support and clinical educational financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
