Why Red Lily Health?

The Red Lily Health Board Aboriginal Corporation (RLHB) was formed in 2011 to empower Aboriginal people of the West Arnhem region and address the health issues they face through providing leadership and governance in the development of quality, effective primary health care services, with a long-term vision of establishing a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service.

What’s in it for you?

  • Part-time position with the option to transition to full-time
  • Generous salary of up to $304,000 pro-rata + super and optional salary packaging to further increase your take-home pay!
  • Work up to 6 days per fortnight and spend the rest of the time either working elsewhere or exploring the picturesque region
  • Unique opportunity to expand your career and conduct varied clinical work

What’s the role?

This is a part-time position (ranging from 0.3 FTE to 0.6 FTE depending on your preference) that will see you travelling from Darwin one day a week, to Minjilang and Warruwi communities to provide clinical services, leaving another one day each fortnight for reviewing results, case conferencing, care planning, general admin, etc.

The role provides a unique opportunity for a GP to split their time between remote indigenous primary care in an ACCHS service, and mainstream urban GP practice, for example.

This role will suit a GP currently working in a clinic or hospital in Darwin on a part-time basis who is looking to pick up extra work with a tangible impact on the lives of locals. Candidates outside of the NT will also be considered, with relocation assistance on offer for those looking to move interstate for the position.

What will you be doing?

  • Your role will focus on the integration of Indigenous cultural imperatives in the delivery of healthcare in the context of an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service
  • You’ll provide clinical services and organisational duties, as well as occasional interactions with Health Advisory Groups as needed (e.g. providing responsive health advice at the request of local communities)

Where will you be working?

Minjilang is the main Aboriginal settlement on Croker Island, sitting on the pristine waters of the Arafura Sea approximately 250km north-east of Darwin and home to flora and fauna unlike anywhere else in the world.

Warruwi is the main township on South Goulburn Island, approximately 300km east of Darwin at the eastern base of the Cobourg Peninsula. The island has a mix of natural landscapes including pristine beaches, marshlands and rocky outcrops harbouring an abundance of unique wild
