Tristar Medical Group are currently seeking a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse to join a friendly multidisciplinary team based in Palmerston and Parap.

What’s the role?
In this role, you will provide psychotherapeutic interventions to a shared consumer demographic in conjunction with the team of General Practitioners. Your services will complement the efforts of the General Practitioner and serve to deliver your consumers with a comprehensive prevention and recovery focused care package that allows for high quality outcomes to be achieved.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to-

  • Developing and reviewing mental health plans for eligible clients and providing treatment as per plan, adhering to relevant clinical guidelines
  • Regularly reviewing the client’s mental state and working with limited supervision and exercising a high degree of independent professional judgement
  • Administering, monitoring, and ensuring compliance by clients with their medication
  • Working collaboratively and consulting regularly with General Practitioners, psychiatrists, and other health professionals
  • Maintaining professional, accurate and legible client notes, care plans and all other documentation pertaining to client management
  • Frequently liaising with the Nurse Manager and Nurse Team Leader, family, and carers, as appropriate

Before you reach out and apply, we need you to have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Mental Health Nurse credentialed with ACMHN
  • A sound understanding of current trends in Mental Health Care including current pharmacological treatments and psychotherapeutic interventions
  • A demonstratable knowledge of and compliance with all relevant legislation and common law obligations affecting nursing at both national and state levels
  • A demonstrated ability to utilise knowledge of clinical trends in day-to-day practice
  • Clinical experience across the lifespan and having a psychotherapeutic skillset / framework e.g., CBT Skills
