Telehealth

We support health services set up telehealth.

Telehealth provides many patients with easier access to health professionals without the time and expense involved in traveling. It also enables health professionals to communicate more easily and improve continuity of care.

The technology required to participate in telehealth is as basic as a webcam and existing computer, with no overhaul required.

GPs, specialists, aged care facilities and Aboriginal health services are encouraged to ask those they already consult with if they are ‘telehealth ready’, or check the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) eHealth Provider Directory (free registration required).

ACRRM has also developed a telehealth toolkit to provide support materials and services.
