CPD GP Dinner Forum in Darwin: Colorectal symptoms, Colonoscopy indications/surveillance and NEW colonoscopy pathway proposed in NT.
The NT PHN invites GPs with an interest in colorectal health, to a professional development dinner with Dr Venkat Shanmugam, a Consultant colorectal & general surgeon at RDH.
Dr Venkatesh Shanmugam is a Consultant colorectal & general surgeon at RDH and a Senior Lecturer at Teesside University in the UK. Prior to coming to Darwin, Venkat worked in the UK as a Consultant Surgeon with special interest in colorectal cancer, laparoscopic colorectal and pelvic floor work.

By the end of this session, GPs will:
- Have an understanding of the new colonoscopy pathway that will be introduced in NT hospitals
- Have improved knowledge of colorectal indications/surveillance.
Northern Territory HealthPathways offer clinicians clear guidance for assessing and managing particular symptoms or conditions during the point of care. Pathways include information for referrers and requests to services in the local health system.
