Please note:

  • Workshop 1- 4 are targeted at Disability Support Workers
  • Workshop 5: parents and caregivers of people with a broad range of intellectual disabilities (including but not limited to FASD, ADHD, and ASD) who demonstrate challenging sexualised behaviours.

Workshop 1: 15 March 2023 Sexuality and Intellectual Disability – https://www.trybooking.com/CFKHX

(This workshop is a prerequisite to attending other workshops run by Lud, with the exception of the family day)

This workshop will explore the meanings that you give to sexuality and specifically the meaning you give to sexual education for people with an intellectual disability.

Workshop 2: 16 March 2023 Consent and People with an Intellectual Disability – https://www.trybooking.com/CFKIB

Participants will explore the ways that we have interpreted consent (both for ourselves and for people with an intellectual disability) and specifically look at new approaches to understanding consent.

Workshop 3: 20 March 2023 Sexualised Behaviours- Creating a sexual health and relationship program – https://www.trybooking.com/CFKIG

In this workshop, you are asked to bring a current scenario that is problematic for you and your work.

Workshop 4: 21 March 2023 Addressing Client Sexuality Disclosures – https://www.trybooking.com/CFKIL

This workshop will explore the ways that you approach sexuality issues with your clients. This is a hands-on practical session.

Family workshop: 21 March 2023 Family Day – https://www.trybooking.com/CFKIO

This is a day where we welcome families and carers of people with intellectual disabilities who demonstrate sexualised behaviour to come along and ask Lud questions to help with day-to-day challenges, and to learn more about these behaviours in an informal way.

Over the day, families can use real life examples to access support from Lud and develop actions to address these behaviours. Sexual health education is essential for keeping people safe and allowing for maximum development.

Please note that workshops require a minimum number to go ahead. Ticket sales will close on the 1st March, and tickets will be finalised by the 8th March.
