Commonwealth Home Support Programme

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) aims to maximise the elderly population’s independence in the home and community.

The CHSP is an Australian Government Department of Health initiative designed to provide entry level support to frail Indigenous Australians aged 50 years and over, and 65 years and over for non-Indigenous people, who need assistance with their day-to-day living.

NT PHN funds a range of health professionals and health service providers to deliver the Community and Home Support sub-activity under CHSP. The service types we commission are:

  • nursing (aged care nursing and incontinence nursing)

These services are delivered through Central Australia Aboriginal Congress and Central Desert Regional Council.
