How we can help with your move to the NT

Our rural workforce agency supports GPs wanting to pursue a career in private practice, not-for-profit organisations, or Aboriginal community-controlled health services. Vacancies range from urban central Darwin to rural and remote NT, and we can help find the right position for you and your family and support you in relocating to the NT.

We also offer opportunities to experience working in general practice through the More Doctors for Rural Australia Program before joining a college led training program.

Here's what we offer to support you in the NT:

  • Health Professional Relocation Grant to help with relocation expenses
    a site visit, after you accept an offer of employment, so you can see where you will be working
  • an orientation program to introduce you to the clinical and cultural aspects of working in the NT and the health care system
  • locum cover when you need it, so you can maintain a work/life balance
    continuing professional development, including grants, scholarships and bursaries, and Fellowship support (for GPs still in training)
  • assistance with applications for funding under the General Practice Workforce Incentives Program.
