Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation currently have a need for an experienced GP Locum in their Nhulunbuy Health Centre.
Nhulunbuy Health Centre
Situated adjacent to the main office of Miwatj, the Nhulunbuy clinic provides also provides a walk-in acute care service and operates a recall program for longer-term health problems. The client base is diverse, including both residents of Nhulunbuy as well as complex cases from nearby communities. Facilities include a number of rooms for specialist visits. This is an AGPAL-accredited clinic, and a teaching practice for medical students of the Northern Territory Clinical School.
Daily rate:
- $1500 per day
- No on call or weekend work
Dates Required:
- 18 December 2023 to 22 December 2023 (NT travel only)
- 31 January 2024 to mid May 2024
- 3 week minimum placement
Transport and Accommodation:
- All transport from the nearest major airport to and from your location is arranged by NT PHN
- Accommodation and vehicle will be provided while on placement by the health service
Patient Record System:
- This clinic uses Communicare and previous experience in the program is highly regarded
Eligibility to Apply:
- Must have current non-restricted registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellow of RACGP or ACCRM is essential
- Aboriginal Health experience essential
Location: East Arnhem
Nhulunbuy is located in north east Arnhem Land where the Gulf of Carpentaria meets the Arafura Sea. The climate in Arhhem Land is tropical, with two distinct seasons: the wet and the dry. The area is great for fishing and it is argued that this area offers some of the best fishing and oldest Aboriginal rock art in the world.
