GP Locum – Sunrise Health Service – Ngukurr NT

Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (Sunrise) are currently seeking an experienced general practitioner to provide locum services to their Ngukurr remote community based in the east Katherine region.

Sunrise’s main purpose is to improve the health and wellbeing of the people in the region east of Katherine in the Northern Territory using a holistic approach that includes a high standard of medical care, the promotion of social justice and the overcoming of the sickness that affects so many people in the region.

Dates available:

  • Dates available from November 2023  – ongoing
Daily rate:
  • $1500 per day
Clinic opening hours:
  • 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • No on-call, callouts or public holidays
Transport and accommodation:
  • All transport from the nearest major airport to and from your location is arranged by NT PHN (conditions apply)
  • Self-contained accommodation and vehicle will be provided while on placement by the health service
Patient record system:
  • The clinics use Communicare
Eligibility to apply:
  • Must have current non-restricted registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM
  • Manual driver’s license
Location
 
Sunrise Health Service is an Aboriginal Community controlled health service with their head office located in Katherine, approximately 320km south of Darwin. Health care services are delivered from nine health centres located in communities East of Katherine, along the Arnhem and Roper Highways.
 
On weekends, explore the surroundings of Katherine by helicopter, kayak or canoe, including Katherine Gorge and Edith Falls in the Nitmiluk National Park. Visit Katherine Hot Springs, Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park or attend the Katherine Community Markets under the lovely African Mahogany trees.
