What’s the role?
The Child and Youth Assessment and Therapeutic Service (CYATS) aims to reduce the impact of complex neurodevelopmental conditions in Aboriginal children in Alice Springs and remote Central Australian communities through early assessment, treatment and management
  • Provide support to Aboriginal children aged 0-18 and their families to optimise their child’s development
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team providing seamless assessment, treatment, management, and support development and learning disorders including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Is this the right role for you?
  • Tertiary degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Proven skills in the assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of childhood disabilities including physical, cognitive and emotional development
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture, and history and knowledge of factors influencing the health and lives of Aboriginal children and families in Central Australia
  • Current NT Driver’s License, or ability to obtain
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer relocation support and clinical educational financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
