The DAISY program is an innovative youth AOD program providing responsive support to young people responding to alcohol and drug challenges. The program provides a range of supports tailored to young people’s needs including outreach and case management support, psycho-education and AOD counselling.

What’s the role?
- Responsible for providing culturally safe, trauma-informed care to participants as they first build a relationship with Catholic Care NT
- Assists young people and their families to navigate supports to meet their needs
- Includes projects that grow our online youth AOD initiatives and seek ways to meet young people’s needs in accessible ways. Through a range of interfaces, the youth worker will provide support and referral, psychoeducation, risk assessment and brief interventions in partnership with young people and their families.
Is this the right role for you?
- A degree in Human Services or equivalent with experience in the area of Alcohol and Drug treatment
- Demonstrated experience in navigating referral processes for a social service environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of providing brief therapeutic interventions and counselling – single session work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, warm, engaging, sensitive to where the participant is at and appropriate response.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people and in cross cultural environments.
- Demonstrated database skills, including case noting and report writing.
NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer relocation support and clinical educational financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
