The More Doctors for Rural Australia Program (MDRAP) aims to provide vital medical services to rural and remote communities by supporting non-vocationally recognised doctors to gain valuable general practice experience. MDRAP serves as a stepping stone for doctors pursuing a college fellowship.
Additionally, MDRAP helps general practices by providing support packages to practice supervisors. However, the most significant benefit of MDRAP is its vital role in filling critical medical practitioner roles across th Northern Territory.
In this video, we interviewed Dr Lionel Crompton, who has been running Arafura Medical Clinics since 1997. He shares his experiences living in Darwin and insights on participating in the MDRAP as a practice supervisor. He explains how the program has benefited his clinics and, more importantly, his patients.
