Chief Information Officer

Salary Range:  $131,449 + super 
Benefits: Generous salary packaging, six weeks annual leave and flexible working arrangements
Location: Darwin or Alice Springs (relocation assistance available)
Maximum term contract until 30 June 2021

About the Opportunity
NT PHN is committed to strengthening our capability in Information and Data Management (IDM) and has established a new IDM function within the organisation. The IDM function will support information management at a system level and enable staff as the knowledge generators freedom to manage the development, handling and sharing of knowledge as required within a strong framework of data and information governance and safety. 

As Chief Information Officer, you will develop and lead organisationally aligned IDM and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategies to enable NT PHN to achieve strategic and operational goals.  The role will establish and lead a high performing team in information and data governance, data and information analytics and management, records management, information security and ICT infrastructure. 

The role is responsible for leadership and governance of the establishment, maintenance and communication of IDM and ICT strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment with organisational corporate governance requirements and industry practice. 

The role will also work with the Senior Executive Leadership Team (SELT) to drive long term strategy and governance with regard to quality, cost effectiveness, risk management and continuous improvement and provide high level strategic and operational advice to the CEO and wider organisation.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Degree in IT or related field required with 5+ years’, senior-level experience preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and leading strategy, policy and standards for master data and information management for planning of effective storage, security, quality, sharing, availability, retention and publishing.
  • The ability to adapt to changing physical environments, work with differing levels of technology and keep abreast of the latest developments and innovations in the IT field including digital health.
  • Excellent knowledge of ICT systems and infrastructure with demonstrated experience in scoping, defining and managing project and change implementation processes to deploy and integrate new digital capability into an organisation including requirements definition and business process testing. 
  • Demonstrated experience in the overall financial management, control and stewardship of ICT assets and resources used in the provision of ICT services and the provision of advice, guidance and leadership to enable the organisation to invest in sustainable solutions.
  • Demonstrated superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with strong strategic and business mindset to support decision-making critical to organisational success.
  • Demonstrated transformation leadership style to drive change, with outstanding communication and engagement skills to motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams and develop strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners, industry leaders and government.
  • Experience working in an environment requiring cultural sensitivity.
