General Practitioner - Darwin City Medical - Darwin

  • Established practice with a large patient base

The Practice:

Rural Workforce NT (RWA NT) are partnering with Darwin City Medical to find a General Practitioner to join their family-owned private practice based in the centre of Darwin. Darwin City Medical offers a number of services including travel medicine, skin checks, adult and child immunsations, women's health, care plans, workers compensation claims and pre-employment medicals.

The Role:

The successful General Practitioner will join a small, friendly team to deliver quality care and health outcomes to the Darwin area. The general practitioner works with a team of committed health professionals to provide patient-centred health care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide appropriate care and services to patients of all age ranges and varied health care needs
  • Respond to medical and health problems affecting patients, including taking patient history, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referrals as necessary
  • Prescribe for patients as appropriate to their needs
  • Provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients
  • Order diagnostic test as required
  • Refer patients to other health providers and specialists as appropriate
  • Maintain patient and practice confidentiality at all times

Selection Criteria:

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the below essential criteria:

Only applicants with full working rights within Australia will be considered (Australian Citizen or Permanent Residents)

  • Current resume with 2 contactable referees
  • Current general or specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Australian recognised medical degree
  • Demonstrated experience providing quality general practice healthcare
  • Two to five years previous experience in general practice
  • Current medical indemnity cover or ability to obtain
  • Current Police Clearance
  • Current Working with Children (Ochre Card)

Desired Criteria:

  • Fellow of RACGP or ACCRM or a recognised equivalent
