The Practice:

Rural Workforce Agency Northern Territory (RWA NT) are partnering with Stuart Park Surgery to find a general practitioner to work full or part time sessions in their Stuart Park Surgery. Stuart Park Surgery is a long standing clinic in the Top End region, and offers excellent medical services including but not limited to, women’s and men’s health care, antenatal shared care, health assessments, influenza vaccinations, pre-employment medicals, travel advice, worker’s compensation and wound care. Stuart Park Surgery is a mixed-billing practice, and provides quality medical care to their patients by qualified and trained medical professionals.

The Role:

The successful General Practitioner is responsible for providing high quality primary health care services and has experience in all aspects of Australian general practice. The general practitioner works with a passionate team of health professionals to provide excellent quality health care, from newborns to the elderly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide appropriate care and services to patients of all age ranges and varied health care needs
  • Ability to communicate well and have active listening skills
  • Respond to medical and health problems affecting patients, including taking patient history, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referrals as necessary
  • Provide management of long-term conditions in line with national guidelines and pathways
  • Prescribe for patients as appropriate to their needs
  • Provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients
  • Order diagnostic test as required
  • Refer patients to other health providers and specialists as appropriate
  • Maintain patient and practice confidentiality at all times

Essential Criteria:

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the below essential criteria

Only applicants with full working rights within Australia will be considered (Australian Citizen or Permanent Residents) and eligible for general AHPRA registration

  • Current resume with 2 contactable referees
  • Australian University medical degree
  • Current general or specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Two to five years previous experience in general practice
  • Participation is quality improvement and continuing professional development
  • CPR or ALS certificate, undertaken within the past three years
  • Current medical indemnity cover or ability to obtain
  • Current Police Clearance
  • Current Working with Children (Ochre Card)
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Cover letter addressing experience, specialisation and interests, availability and strengths that can be brought to the role

Desired Criteria:

  • Fellow of RACGP or ACCRM
