+ Summary

Clinical and Community Council Members - Darwin and Alice Springs NT

  • Vacancies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members
  • Meetings held in Darwin and Alice Springs (travel and accommodation covered by NT PHN)

Northern Territory PHN's councils are made up of people from around the NT who have an interest in health care. They work together with our Board to help achieve our vision: that people in the Northern Territory will enjoy their best health and wellbeing.

We are seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representatives to join each of our three councils.

  • Clinical Council members come from a range of professional backgrounds, including Aboriginal health practitioners, general practitioners, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals.
  • Community Advisory Council members have good knowledge of the health priorities in their communities. This might come from their personal experience as a patient or carer, or from their employment in areas like health consumer advocacy, population health, or community services. Members are not required to have clinical experience.

Council members are individuals bringing their own expertise and experiences of primary health care. They represent their community and/or their profession, not an organisation.

Council members assist Northern Territory PHN to improve the health of NT communities and people's experience with the health system.

What is involved?

Each Council meets at least once every 3 months, with special meetings arranged as required.
