The Practice:

Rural Workforce Agency Northern Territory (RWA NT) are partnering with Ark Medical, who are seeking expressions of interest from General Practitioners interested in joining their committed team. Ark Medical offers a range of clinical services to the Coolalinga community, including standard GP services, and the practice also operates in the area of skin cancer and Aboriginal Health. Ark Medical is conveniently located in the Chemist Warehouse within Coolalinga Central and is less than 30 minutes from Darwin.

The Location:

Coolalinga NT, is a fast growing community, that services the residents of the outer rural areas, and boasts a new shopping centre, with major outlets including Woolworths, Coles, specialty shops and cafes. Coolalinga has room to grow, with young families being attracted to a semi-rural lifestyle, that has all the modern amenities close by.

The Role:

Being the successful General Practitioner, you will be able to provide high quality primary health care services to the Coolalinga community and surrounds, and in keeping with best practice standards. You are able to work with a passionate team of health professionals, to provide excellent quality health care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide appropriate care and services to patients of all age ranges and varied health care needs
  • Respond to medical and health problems affecting patients, including taking patient history, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referrals as necessary
  • Provide management of long-term conditions in line with national guidelines and pathways
  • Provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients
  • Maintain patient and practice confidentiality at all times

Essential Criteria:

  • Possess full working rights within Australia
  • Current resume with 2 contactable referees
  • Australian recognised medical degree
  • Current general or specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Two to five years previous experience in general practice
  • Experience in the diagnosis and treatment of skin-cancer
  • Experience in Aboriginal Health is an advantage
  • Experience in skin cancer surgery is highly desired
  • Current medical indemnity cover or ability to obtain
  • Current Police Clearance
  • Current Working with Children (Ochre Card)
