Rural workforce Agency is partnering with Bodyfit NT to find an Accredited Exercise Physiologist/Strength & Conditioning Coach to join their multi-disciplinary team in Darwin.

Bodyfit NT is a Darwin owned and operated company established in 2006 who offers specialised Physiotherapy, rehabilitation, exercise therapy programs and strength and conditioning services to enhance quality of life through exercise therapy, injury recovery and movement.

In this role you will be responsible for providing weekly in-service exercise physiology services to a broad range of clientele. The role will entail service delivery from a clinic-based setting, including delivery of health education and tailored exercise sessions targeted to enhance quality of life.

THE LOCATION: DARWIN

Darwin has a tropical climate with two seasons: wet is characterised by increased humidity followed by monsoonal rains and storms. Dry season brings warm and dry sunny days as well as cool nights.

It has a full range of shops including a shopping centre, multiple supermarkets, a range of speciality food and retail shops, two hospitals and health clinics. Further there is a variety of accommodation options and a large number of public and private schools. There is also a wide range of recreational activities and sports clubs for an active lifestyle.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement high quality and specialised strength and conditioning programs including strength and power enhancement, speed enhancement, agility and movement skills refinement, endurance capacity increases and injury prevention/rehabilitation
  • Set up and maintain the schedule of strength and conditioning workouts for sports teams, athletes and general population and ensure high level rehabilitation programming delivery and development.
  • Establish and implement a culture of continuous improvement and innovation through regular research sharing and in-service presentations as well as deliver high quality educational resources for staff and clients
  • Initiate Business development through marketing and expanding the sports and athletes serviced through Bodyfit NT
  • Coordinate and lead the Personal training section through innovation and variety as well as use Functional Movement screening and LTAD models in programming

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the below essential criteria:

  • Undergraduate/Post graduate qualifications in Exercise Physiology
  • Membership and Accreditation with Exercise and Sport Science Australia
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in strength and conditioning
  • Demonstrated personable skills and ability to develop working relationships with current and future clients and the ability to work within a team environment.

The successful candidate must be willing to obtain a satisfactory police clearance and working with children’s check (OCHRE) prior to commencement in this role.
