Rural Workforce Agency (RWA) NT is partnering with Alice Springs Podiatry to find a Podiatrist to join their multidisciplinary team.

They are a caring and dedicated team of health professionals and seeking a full time podiatrist. The podiatry clinic is home to 2 podiatrists, 3 receptionists, 4 massage therapists, a chiropractor, a denture prosthetist, an acupuncturist and several visiting doctors. In this position, you will be exposed to new experiences inside and outside the clinic.

Their difference is the diversity of people we treat. Patients are the full gamut including; high risk diabetes patients on dialysis, the early walker, the elderly, Foreign military and intelligence personnel, elite athletes, post-surgical rehabilitations, workers compensation and the outback jackaroo. There is an abundance of sport; Golf, Mountain bike riding, Martial Arts, Soccer, Tennis, Motor Sport, Cricket, Football – you name it. It’s a good place to see active feet!

Alice Springs Podiatry welcome change and get excited about new technologies and techniques to improve our service delivery. They have treadmill and pressure plate analysis, electro-corporeal shock wave therapy, 3D digital scanning technology, cryotherapy and nail bracing treatments and are currently trialing Lunula Laser Therapy for the treatment of fungal nails. On offer are a large range of footwear, braces, splints and compression garments.

The Location: Alice Springs

The location is unlike any other. There are plenty of waterholes to swim, hiking trails to trek, mountain bike trails to ride, and outback places to camp. The summer is hot, the winter is cold but everything in between is perfect.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team with other health professionals including massage therapists, chiropractor, denture prosthesis and General Practitioners to optimise client health outcomes
  • Podiatric health care through assessment and management of a broad range of lower limb problems
  • Dispense and administer pharmaceutical therapies as deemed appropriate for common lower limb conditions
  • Biomechanics and Physical therapies such as running/walking analysis, Orthotic therapy and foot mobilisation
  • Implement and maintain sterile and aseptic techniques
  • Actively promote preventative care and early intervention
  • Provide high quality education and information to clients about the management of their condition, involving clients and carers in decision making and negotiating agreed plans and arrange appropriate medical and allied health follow up or referral when required
  • Manage client information sensitively and confidentially and ensure client notes and records are current and up to date. 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the below essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Podiatry with registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • An ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize workload and manage time effectively
