Top End Speech Pathology is the longest-standing speech pathology practice in the NT. It has a strong reputation for friendly, professional speech pathology services provided to people of all ages who have a wide range of communication and swallowing impairments.  


This position will deliver high quality and contemporary family-centred speech pathology services for children and adults. You will be responsible for developing individualised assessment and therapy for clients with speech, language, literacy, voice, fluency, and swallowing/eating disorders and follow evidence based best practice.

The Top End region is home to Darwin, Australia's only tropical capital city. Darwin is arguably one of Australia's most cosmopolitan cities with a population consisting of more than 60 nationalities. The greater Darwin area has a population of approximately 120,500 people. The city's multicultural mix is highlighted by its many exciting cultural festivals and weekly food and craft markets. There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained including the Deckchair Cinema, sailing, museums and shopping centres as well as being nearby Litchfield National Park for great camping and swimming. The region has a tropical climate with a distinctively dry and wet season.


To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the below essential criteria:

  • Recognised degree or diploma in Speech Pathology.
  • practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia with CPSP status and participation in PSR
  • current NT driver’s license
  • current criminal history check and Ochre Card
  • own public liability and professional indemnity insurance
  • post graduate speech pathology experience preferably in paediatrics
  • commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing professional development and performance management
  • effective interpersonal skills, written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • competency with standard computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, email)
  • demonstrated ability to work independently and also in collaboration with others
  • effective time management and organisation skills
  • experience and knowledge of cultural and linguistic diversity issues.
