NT PHN are currently partnering with EASA to find a qualified and experienced Psychologist to join their Alice Springs team. EASA is a firmly established not-for-profit organisation that offers integrated packages of psychological and organisational development services to organisations across the Northern Territory. Psychology services include disciplinary counselling, professional supervision, employer-directed work performance counselling and onsite employee support services.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible to undertake a range of generalist and specialist counselling psycho-social education duties including alcohol and other drug related interventions as well as maintain and manage a counselling caseload. Counsellors generally schedule 5 client sessions per day, although this can vary with other requirements such as group professional development and group and individual supervision. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake a range of generalist and specialist counselling psycho-social education duties including alcohol and other drug related interventions
  • Maintain and manage a counselling caseload including group professional development, group and individual supervision, staff meetings and other duties
  • Provide EAP briefings and deliver report feedback to organisations
  • Undertake a commitment to engage in projects such as onsite and remote area service delivery
  • Conduct psychological assessments and write psychological reports
  • Provide a commitment to clinical supervision with the Manager- Psychological Services or other appropriate and approved professionals and participate in team case discussions
  • Develop and deliver training in the area of psychological services

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the below essential criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, eligibility for registration with NT registration Board as a Psychologist and membership of the Australian Psychological Society
  • Experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Brief Interventions with a good counselling background
  • Knowledge and experience with a range of psychological assessment tools

DESIRED CRITERIA

  • Experience in critical incident stress management and trauma counselling
