Professional Assistance Available to Health Professionals in the NT
If you are feeling unwell, in any way, NT PHN recommends that you seek the services of a health professional.
The following peer support services are available to GPs and other health professionals:
Doctors Health SA: 08 8366 0250
24 hour phone assistance and clinical services
Help line for personal and confidential advice for practitioners and students, and also for colleagues and family members in SA and NT, relating to stress and mental illness, drug and alcohol problems, or personal and financial difficulties.
Bush Support Services (run by CRANAplus)
CRANA’s core service is the 24 hour, confidential, psychologist-driven Bush Support Line but they also run stress management workshops, produce self-care publications and offer guidelines for support. Staff are experienced in the remote sector and know the best resources for those with unique support needs.
Calls from mobile phones to the Bush Support Services 1800 805 391 toll free number can be returned at the caller’s request.
Lifeline Australia: 13 11 14
This is a confidential telephone crisis support service available 24/7 from a landline, payphone or mobile.
Anyone across Australia experiencing a personal crisis or thinking about suicide can contact Lifeline. Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation, trained volunteers are ready to listen, provide support and referrals.

A support service for hospital employees and health professionals throughout the NT.
Parent Line: 1300 30 1300
Parent Line is available from 8.00am -10.00pm, seven days a week for support, counseling and parent education for the cost of a local call. Mobile phone charges apply.

Call for professional telephone and online support, information and referral service, helping men to deal with relationship problems in a practical and effective way. Available 24/7.
