Mental health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders

Mental health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders

The integration of mental health, alcohol and drugs, social and emotional wellbeing and primary care is at the core of our approach to commissioning Indigenous mental health services.

We work closely with Aboriginal community-controlled health services as well as Top End Health Service and Central Australian Health Service to promote joint services and wider access and holistic responses to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health.

Across the NT, we provide funding to social and emotional wellbeing teams to deliver integrated and culturally appropriate mental health care through the primary care sector. The map below shows where we are supporting social and emotional wellbeing mental health services.
