Mental health

Mental health

Mental health affects how we think, feel, and act. It is our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing and determines how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. It’s important at every stage of our lives, from childhood and adolescence to adulthood.

What is stepped care?

In a stepped care approach, a person presenting to the health system is matched to the least intensive level of care that suits their needs and takes into consideration the balance between intended benefits and potential risks.

To achieve this, an initial assessment is required. This is undertaken in partnership with the individual to determine suitable and appropriate treatment choices or options.

People with lived experience

We are committed to involving people with lived experience of mental illness including suicide in all aspects of commissioning services including service design and delivery of mental health programs and activities.
