The aim of the services is to equip people with skills to help manage their mental illness, improve their relationships with family and others, and increase their participation in social and vocational activities.
We commission a psychosocial support service that is available free-of-charge for people with severe mental illness and who are not eligible for NDIS support or other psychosocial programs.
Peer Workforce Development
We commissioned a peer-led education pilot called My Recovery, which Northern Territory Mental Health Coalition is trialling as a psychosocial support program.
The aim of the program is to increase the capacity of people with severe and complex mental illness so they can self-manage their illness in a peer-led, group setting.
The pilot has three phases:
1. Introduce My Recovery to people with severe and complex mental health needs
2. Train people with severe and complex mental health needs to be facilitators of the program
3. Support facilitators to deliver the program.
